  • APPLICATION: Purchased a Gen IV 58x engine to install in a 1997-2007 Gen III based vehicle? This kit provides you with all the parts needed to convert the engine to 24x to run it with the factory Gen III PCM. As an example, if you were to install an LS3 58x engine into a 1998-2002 F-body, or a 1999-2007 GMT-800 Silverado, you will need all of these options.

    WHATS INCLUDED? ACC-1054 58 to 24x converter box, knock sensor adapter, MAP sensor adapter, and knock sensor relocation brackets.

    1: Lingenfelter 58x to 24x Converter Box (ACC-1054): This converter box manufactured by Lingenfelter converts the 58x gen 4 crank signal to the 24x gen 3 crank signal, as well as the 4x gen 4 cam signal to the 1x gen 3 cam signal that the gen 3 computer requires. The only time this box is not required is if you have a 24x LS2 based engine (2005 Corvette, 05-06 GTO, TBSS, etc), or your engine had the correct reluctor wheel installed on the crank and cam gears.

    2: Knock Sensor Adapter (EXT-1011): Gen 4 and gen 3 systems use different knock sensors. This would require relocating the gen 3 valley style knock sensors to the side of the gen 4 engine block. The gen 3 side knock sensor adapter will extend the knock sensor plugs to accommodate this. 

    3: MAP Sensor Adapter (EXT-1010-1): All Gen 3 engines use the delphi clip-in style MAP sensor on the intake. All 2009+ engines use a bosch LS3 style bolt in MAP sensor. This adapter harness is a short plug and play adapter to convert the gn 3 plug to the Bosch LS3 style plug.

    4. Knock Sensor Relocation Brackets (551216-KN30): Gen 4 engines do not have the correct thread sizes for the gen 3 knock sensors. These adapter brackets will bolt to the side of the gen 4 block and provide you with the correct size threaded hole for factory gen 3 style knock sensors. 

    NOTE: A computer tune is required when changing your engine. PSI does not offer factory vehicle tuning. You will need to bring your vehicle to a local performance tuner to accommodate the engine and sensor differences. You can also get a remote tune if you have an HP Tuners device such as an MPVI4.

    DBW Throttle Body Adapter: For 2003-2007 drive by wire vehicles (specifically trucks) with the 8 wire throttle body connector, the X-Link wiring adapter will convert the 8 pin plug on your factory harness to a Gen 4 style 6 pin plug. This will allow you to run the LS2 silver-blade throttle body, LS3 gold-blade throttle body, or the vortec/LSA 87mm throttle body.

    Alternatively, you could retain your factory 8 wire throttle body by using 551511XG. You will need the throttle body adapter plate to convert the gen 4 bolt pattern to the gen 3, 3-bolt throttle body. 

    Injector Adapters: All Gen 4 58x engines come factory with EV6 style injectors. Many of the 2005-2007 Gen 3 vehicles, may have EV6 style injectors as well, which means your harness will plug directly into the gen 4 injectors. If you are installing a gen 4 engine into an LS1 car (1998-02 Camaro/Firebird, 1997-2004 Corvette, 2004 GTO), you will need the EV1 Harness to EV6 Inj adapters. Many early trucks from 1999-2004 will have Multec style injectors. You will then need the Multec Harness to EV6 Inj adapters to accommodate this.
